Job Description

The Program Director is responsible for the planning, development, ongoing operation, and evaluation of emergency services for children, families, and adults within the Southeast Emergency Services program. S/he provides the requisite leadership, direction, supervision, training, and management systems that ensure program services are offered in a manner that promotes clients’ safety, their effective resolution of crises, and maximizes reliance on community based and diversionary supports.

You will:

  • Deliver Services - Responsible for program planning, development, evaluation, and ongoing improvement of services. Develops and monitors program budget, ensures that resources are maximized, and that program services are operated within budgetary parameters. Ensures services are provided consistent with best practice standards for emergency behavioral health services.

  • Teach, Train and Coach- Engages in interviewing, hiring, orientation, work assignments, staff training and development, coaching, supervision, progressive discipline and performance evaluation of staff.

  • Build and Maintain Relationships - The Program Director maintains effective working relationships with the Department of Mental Health, local Emergency Departments, police, inpatient resources, schools, community resources, and treatment/rehabilitation programs.

  • Perform Administrative Components - Ensures accurate and timely programmatic documentation such as assessments, Individualized Action Plans, service notes, daily logs, bed registers, incident reports, safety plans, outcomes reporting, and any other documentation assigned. Ensures that staffing patterns and schedules are in keeping with programmatic needs

What you will need to bring:

  • Licensure - Licensed Master's level clinician .

  • Track record - Minimally ten years experience in the delivery of behavioral health services to people in crisis, five years of these as a supervisor/manager of such services. Ability to perform all tasks in a respectful and thoughtful manner. Work in an effective and calm manner. Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Conflict Resolution and Mediation Skills- Demonstrated ability to work in pressured situations and maintain clarity, focus, judgment and compassion.

  • Computer Skills - Proficient in Windows, Microsoft Office and Google applications.

  • License - Driver’s License and use of reliable personal vehicle for work related travel
